Dr. Christina E. West has been practicing Chiropractic for over thirty years. She was raised in a family of athletes. A western horsewoman, downhill ski racer, swim coach, aerobics instructor, Dr. West experienced the freedom of new found health in her 30’s and wondered why she had not been exposed to chiropractic as a child. Her parents were raised by medical doctors and her grandfather was one of the first doctors in the 20’s to go to Vienna, Austria to learn “bone-setting” which was early manipulations. She uses her personal experience to assist the members of her community, especially infants and children, enjoy the benefits of chiropractic care. She was one of the first Certified Massage Therapists on the Coast, after realized she enjoyed assisting in the healing process, she attended Palmer Chiropractic College-West and Life West Chiropractic College. She is the only Chiropractor that massages her own patients.
Dr. West has benefited from chiropractic care herself and has attended hundred of hours of postgraduate education courses, including three years of study in Pediatric Chiropractic. She is extremely passionate about having her patients big and small share the same experience. She believes that proper education with regard to spinal hygiene, nutrition, exercise, and stress management is an essential ingredient to achieving abundant health.
Dr. West has served as President of the San Mateo County Chiropractic Society, the regional branch of the California Chiropractic Association, during the Centennial Year of the Chiropractic Profession. Her other professional affiliations include the American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Association, World Council of Women Chiropractors; and International Chiropractic Pediatric Council and Association, dedicated to the education and dissemination of the latest chiropractic research concerns.
Dr. West has a special place in her heart for children. She became a mother of two in her 40’s, and began educating children at the junior high level at Cunha Middle School of the Cabrillo Unified School District about Scoliosis and taking responsibility of their future health care.
Dr. West works actively in the community and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Dr. West is also a Diplomat of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and a State Appointed Qualified Medical Examiner and Industrial Disability Examiner.
